Registered Nurse (RN)
As a Riverside General Hospital Registered Nurse (RN) your duties/responsibilities will consist of supervising the tasks performed by LVNs, CNAs, and other medical assistants while upholding the utmost ethical and safe techniques. However, top priority and primary responsibility of our RNs is to provide patient care, and make decisions for plans of care for all patients from healthy to ill or injured status. Registered Nurses also perform and analyze diagnostic tests, dispense medications, and interpret patients? medical history. It is also an RNs responsibility to teach patients proper health management practices.
Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status at end of shift/assignment. Record patients' medical information and vital signs. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions. Perform routine nursing care to assigned patients, while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times. Direct and supervise less skilled nursing or health care personnel or supervise a particular unit. Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity. Instruct individuals, families and other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention and develop health improvement programs. Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments. Accountable and responsible for each specific patient assigned while under direct supervision of the facilities Charge Nurse and/or House Supervisor. Always is punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts.
